To engage, educate, organize and mobilize black, brown and other historically marginalized people to build power for themselves and their communities.

Volma Volcy is a fervent community leader with over 15 years experience working in community, labor and the non-profit world. As a non-profit executive, he has a goal of building and training 50,000 community leaders from disadvantaged communities to step into the ring of democracy and into their leadership.

Stacey brings over 10 years of experience working in public health, community engagement and management. Stacey, a founding member of the Ring of Democracy, strongly believes in its mission and wants to serve to empower members of her community. 

As a Haitian immigrant, being able to empower marginalized people in the community is very important to her and she knows she can do that with the Ring of Democracy. 

My name is Angelica Campos, a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Sociology, and a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies from Sonoma State University. I am passionate about social justice and creating equitable solutions for all individuals no matter their background. After participating in a year-long internship in affordable housing development in college, I learned the vital role such initiatives play in fostering community well-being. After college, I knew I wanted to help out my own community in my hometown of Sacramento and found a role at the non-profit organization, The Ring of Democracy, as an Outreach Specialist, where I can continue with my personal and professional goal to help empower my community.
